New Listings in the Vintage Shop - January 2025

I've changed the style of my vintage shop since November of last year. After the start of my fifteenth year on Etsy, I decided to downsize my inventory and instead sell what I really wanted. This meant quality items over quantity.

In the past, I've had upwards of 800 items to take care of and sell (and everything that goes with it like listing, storing, and shipping them) and over the last two months, I've whittled it down to a solid 250 items.

While that's still about fifty items more than I want, I figure I'll let those items sell over the year and continue to maintain my inventory with the things I truly love-- more of what I love. Wool, denim, silk, and unusual and fun items.

It's a challenge to go thrifting these days knowing I'm not trying to find as much as I can but more instead on "What do I really want to see in my shop?" and "What means the most to me?"

I just listed this beautiful space-dyed cardigan. I've only sourced a half dozen of these over the years, which is always shocking because they were so prevalent back in the '70s. While I'll be slowing down on the sweaters and outwear in a few weeks - to shift to spring and summer items - I've got a few more days this month to source what I wish I could sell all year round: sweaters, cardigans, jackets, and coats.

These boots are always fun too. They're Yodeler's faux fur boots. Having sold a few pairs of these, I always add these to my arms as soon as I see them! I think of them as vintage "Uggs," with a fitted -- i.e. better -- look. And the zippers are fun.

Winter Sweaters and Vintage Coats │ Vintage Outerwear at Perennial Vintage

Just because it's mid-January, doesn't mean cold weather will disappear soon (even here in California). In fact, winter has just begun!

Because of that, my shop is stocked with wool sweaters -- the best kind of wool sweaters. Aran Irish sweaters, Norwegian sweaters -- all the good quality stuff. As well as all sorts of outerwear. Capes, anoraks, raincoats ... oh my.

Here are a few I just listed. (Click on photo to take you to the listing.)

Vintage Haul │ My Latest Thrifted Finds this January 7, 2025

This week was "vest week" and I thrifted two beautiful vests. One is all wool, the other a fringe suede vest.

I also have a vest that isn't shown in the vintage pile pics that I just listed, by Filson. My husband had it in his closet but didn't wear it as often as he wanted to, so into the shop, it goes.

It's a buffalo plaid, is super thick wool, and one of the nicest wool vests you can get. Truly. Vintage Filson is some of the best vintage work wear. The company is still in business today.

Hence, this week was "vest week."

I also picked up a piece of Pyrex I didn't have yet, in the Spring Blossom pattern. I believe it is number 442 in the Cinderella-style, and you can see it as the second smallest bowl in my nesting set.

All the vests are in the shop! Winter is in full tilt and I'm ready for you.

Have a great weekend.♥

Vintage 60s Camel Tan Wool Coat

This beautiful vintage coat appeared before me like a mirage yesterday. Finding camel-colored wool items is already difficult but seeing this lovely color in wool that was in excellent condition, is even harder.

This gorgeous coat, which has a mink collar and wonderful bracelet-length sleeves, is probably from the mid-to-late '60s. It is fully lined and ready to keep you warm and toasty this winter. It's roughly a women's medium, and it's in the shop awaiting the right new owner.

Along with black wool, having a neutral tan wool jacket is an essential in everyone's closet.

Winter wear is in full effect in my store and I've got plenty more sweaters and coats to get you through the season. Happy wintering. Happy New Year...
