Blackberry Picking │ My Vintage Garden

We have tons of blackberry bushes on the trails near my home. With our hot and constant sun, blackberries in our part of California can be harvested all summer and even prior to summer and after summer.

That means there's a constant harvest for a good three to six months.

I've begun picking some already, and I put them in the freezer. I have plans to harvest a lot more after this crazy heat wave. They're great for jams, preserves, garnishing on plates, or to put on vanilla ice cream.

Yum.

Have a wonderful weekend. Stay cool. We're headed for a potential 114 degrees, which is unheard of here in Sacramento. I plan on getting all my work done early ... and then hunker down to read or watch TV for a few hours during the hottest time of the day.

Whew!

Thank God it's Vintage Friday (TGIVF)│ Vintage Photo of Women Golfing

Old photo of women playing golf
I'm not sure what's happening here. Saw this photo on Old Photos on Facebook.

It made me laugh out loud.

I mean, I know it's women, and it's women golfing, but it looks rather ... discombobulated.

Which is hysterical.

It reminds me of four women talking all at once. The way women get when they hang out, you know, lots of words and laughing and a grand time.

This image might be the perfect analogy of what that talk physically looks like.

Thank God it's Vintage Friday, my vintage friends. Stay cool out there this weekend.

Vintage 4th of July Outfit of the Day

Inevitably, I try to wear red, white, and blue on our patriotic days. It’s different yearly because I almost always have added a vintage item to my closet (or taken one away and sold it).

This year, for the 4th, the top is a ‘60s gingham sleeveless piece and I’ve paired it with an ‘80s leather red belt and modern white shorts from J. Crew.

The belt is for sale in my shop, but the top stays in my closet.

Every day is a good day to wear something fun.

Have a wonderful Independence Day.

Vintage Patriotic Dress

Look at this patriotic look. What a dress. Obviously the film has been colorized. It looks to be  mid to late 1800s  but I may be wrong.

This dress would certainly be a fun one to wear. She looks proud to be an American.

I’m not quite wearing something like this today but… I will be wearing red, white, and blue.

Happy 4th, America!

Happy 4th of July Independence Day - 2024

Happy 4th of July!

May you celebrate our American freedom with friends and family today.
We’re having family over for the annual 4th swim in our pool. It’s going to be a scorcher here so the water is welcome.
Stay cool…
and may God bless America.

Happy Independence Day.
