Herb Garden │ My Victory Garden

Rows of herb plants in a garden center
I have a small raised bed of soil in the backyard that allows for a few plants. I've planted vegetables for most years, but after being frustrated with the small space, and knowing I can't adjust the size, I'm changing it this year.

It's going to be an herb garden. They are all perennials and are perfectly beautiful and edible.

I've already got mint, thyme, oregano, and lavender. Today, I swung by my local garden center and picked up three more herbs: parsley, dill, and rosemary.

While I have a large rosemary plant already, it's located behind my pool, and I needed a second one.

Getting to it is the problem. To add a dash of rosemary to a dish for a meal can be rather precarious.

Three herb plants: rosemary, parsley, and dill

As in, a quick-splash-in-the-pool-before-dinner precarious.

So, I picked up another small rosemary to put in the raised bed instead. I'm pretty happy with these three choices.

Simple but perfect.

This is my take on a victory garden... a victory for figuring out suitable plants for the space.
